Equipped with a full-width hydraulic ramp and electric winch to cater for most equipment types, our qualified drivers can ensure your fleet is transported to you quickly while meeting all safety regulations.
We don’t just transport our own trucks, either. Customers can hire our forklift transport and driver for their own truck movements and/ or premises relocation.
While we are confident in the quality of our materials handling equipment, we recognised that a tool is only as effective as the person that wields it. Organisations have a legal responsibility to ensure that employees are trained to operate forklift trucks and are tested by an accredited instructor.

Similar to a car MOT, thorough examinations must be carried out on your truck periodically, often depending on usage. We are accredited by the CFTS (Consolidated Fork Truck Services) to carry out Thorough Examination inspections. We recommend your fleet should be services at least twice a year, if not not more, to ensure safe operation. As an employer, It is your responsibility to ensure that all trucks, owned or leased, have a thorough examination report that complies with schedule of 1 of LOLER 98. This includes checking that vehicles are kept safe and fit for purpose and that the driver can get in and out of the vehicle safely. You must be able to produce your certificate when required to do so by an enforcement officer.
We are accredited by the CFTS (Consolidated Fork Truck Services) to carry out Thorough Examination inspections. We recommend your fleet should be services at least twice a year, if not not more, to ensure safe operation.
Does My Maintenance Programme Not Cover This Already?
A Thorough Examination is distinctly separate from a truck’s regular maintenance programme and you shouldn’t consider it as part of the maintenance. It’s actually an examination embedded in legislation and so as a result, you would not normally include a Thorough Examination in a maintenance agreement, unless you specifically request it.

WHAT IS A THOROUGH EXAMINATION?
A Thorough Examination is the mandatory inspection required by law to ensure that the mechanical parts of a lift truck are in safe working order.
It is roughly equivalent to the MOT for cars, certifying that all components affecting safety have been formally inspected and assessed as safe at the time of testing.
Thorough Examination is distinct from a truck’s regular maintenance program, even though some items overlap. It is not part of maintenance but an examination embedded in legislation. Therefore, it is typically not included in a maintenance agreement unless specifically requested.
The examination must be carried out at least every 12 months. The responsibility for this lies with the employer of the truck operator. If the truck is hired, the hire company is responsible.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIRE PURCHASE AND CONTRACT HIRE?
The main difference is in the name as Hire Purchase (HP) gives you legal ownership at the end and Contract Hire (CH) does not.
VAT is treated differently as well with VAT on HP being payable up front and VAT on CH applicable to all rentals and fees.
HP is paying rentals on the basis of paying off the full purchase price over a set period with a nominal option to purchase fee and outright ownership at the very end.
CH is predominantly a hire agreement usually including a service package where a customer will rent a piece of machinery for a set period of time which will go back to the supplier at the end of that period.
A customer would not be the legal owner under CH so the depreciation would not appear on their financial records.
